Cozonac with poppy seeds - no kneading

If you want to try something else for the Easter meal, we have a delicious proposal. Cozonac with poppy seeds, without framing, easy to make and irresistibly tasty.

An alternative to the classic cake, stuffed with walnuts, raisins and shit, which is easy to make and you don't need to fry it until you miss the fruits. You should, of course, keep in mind that the dough needs a few good hours to ferment properly, so it would be ideal to prepare it in the evening and refrigerate it overnight to rise properly.

  • 400 g of flour
  • 200 ml of warm milk
  • 100 g sugar
  • 100 g butter
  • an envelope of dry yeast
  • 3 yolks
  • peel half a lemon
  • a pinch of salt
  • For the filling:
  • 200 g mac
  • 100 g sugar
  • 150 ml of milk
  • 1 sachet of vanilla sugar

Sift the flour into a large bowl. Mix lukewarm milk with yeast and a tablespoon of sugar and let rise for 5 minutes. When the mayonnaise has risen, mix it with the yolks, melted butter and lemon peel. Add the rest of the sugar and a pinch of salt and mix well until smooth.

Pour the mixture over the flour and mix with a spatula until all the flour is incorporated. Cover the bowl with a towel and leave the dough to rise until it doubles in volume.

After it has risen, put the dough in the fridge for a few hours, ideally overnight.

For the filling, mix the poppy seeds, sugar and milk and bring to the boil. Stir and bring to a boil until the poppy has softened and the composition becomes creamy.

Remove the dough from the fridge and spread it on a counter greased with a little oil. Put the filling over, in a thin layer and roll the cake. Put in the tray lined with baking paper, grease with egg and let it simmer for another 20-30 minutes.

Bake in the preheated oven at 180 degrees. Reduce the temperature to 150 degrees after the first 15 minutes and leave for another 35-40 minutes, or until the cake has browned.

  • 1 kg of flour
  • 200g sugar
  • 2 cubes of yeast
  • 50 ml oil
  • 50 ml melted butter
  • a pinch of salt
  • 7 yolks

The shit has to be cut into cubes. You can also make cake with all three fillings. Put the poppy seeds and walnuts on the sides, and the shit in the middle.

Method of preparation:
